Dr. David Guelich Bio :

Dr. David Guelich was born in St. Paul, Minnesota and raised in Park City, Utah. After graduating with honors from the University of Utah, he received his medical doctorate from the Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Northwestern University School of Medicine and furthered his training in Houston, Texas. At the prestigious Baylor Sports Medicine Clinic he completed a fellowship in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine working with the University of Houston, Houston Texans, and Houston Astros and authoring numerous publications.

Dr. Guelich’s practice focuses primarily on sports medicine injuries of the shoulder, elbow, and knee. Over his twenty years in practice, these treatments have helped every caliber of athlete. This experience helps all patients navigate contemporary non-surgical treatments such as Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections and when necessary, the latest minimally invasive arthroscopic surgical techniques. Dr. Guelich is the past Director of the UIC Orthopaedics Sports Medicine Fellowship, and is widely known for his expertise in overhead athlete shoulder and elbow injuries, rotator cuff tears, and overuse injuries to the elbow. This is matched with extensive experience in complex knee cartilage, meniscus, and ligament injuries, with a particular focus on achieving best outcomes for acute and chronic Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) problems. Dr. Guelich understands the anxiety and expense involved in accessing today’s healthcare market. His team is committed to providing careful and compassionate care.

In that role, he has served as a consultant and treating physician for numerous athletes from the National Football League (NFL), Major League Baseball (MLB), regional universities and local high schools.
